OK, this thread could die a quick death, but you never know.

This Friday I'm giving blood; it's the second time I've done so and I wish I had got round to starting to do it earlier, it's something that I think everyone who can do, should do - it really is very important.

Does anyone else on here donate regularly (well, three times a year, which is the maximum you can do)?

I just thought I would start a thread to raise awareness of it and promote it because it's such a fundamental thing to our health services and seeing as we are all a sporty bunch, I'd imagine most of us would be fine for it.

If anyone is thinking of going, but would like to ask someone who has been before (not that I'm a veteran at it), just ask and I'll do my best to answer. Alternatively, the National Blood Service web site (http://www.blood.co.uk/) does a pretty good job of answering questions as well.

I used to as I was in the forces and you got to have a gander at some fit nurses:slider_hi5:
I cant now as I have had a transfusion, dont know why that is come to think of it!!!
I think we all should, I needed 17 pints after an RTA, without it Norwich would be without one of the prettiest forehands since Farmer Mcpartridge from Wymondham:thumbsup::dance3::thumbsup:

dont that xiom26 talk some cr*p, not about the RTA but about his forehand,i find it very predictable, looks the same every time it flys past me,:rocker:lol, mick the blood giving is a fantastic thing and i also gave before an illness prevented it:thumbsup:without embarrassing him or revealing personal details, let me just say that after the accident,
jason,{xion26 i cant call him that anymore} my firstborn son would not be here anymore,if he wants to explain further its up to him,but i will say without feeling silly that he is the bravest and most determined person i have ever met and i am proud to call him my no1 son, right thats enough of being nice his forehand is still cr*p:thtease:

I gave blood once not sure why I haven't since. I should look at doing it really and my Mother has had Cancer twice and without Blood Donors she would be here now.

It's such an inherently good thing Annie - if you go to that link above and put in your postcode, they'll tell you where they come near you and what dates (if you have moved since you donated). I hope your mum is well now.
