Paul Drinkhall just failed in his attempt to win the BBC’s Young Personality of the Year award after viewers voted in favour of 13 year old diving expert Thomas Daley.
It’s the third year in a row that Paul has been good enough to reach the final three. Last year he came second to Arsenal and England footballer Theo Walcott. Even if Paul had won he wouldn’t have been able to collect his trophy because of playing at the World Junior Championships in Palo Alto, USA.
Nevertheless, it’s been a fantastic year for the 17 year old who recently signed for leading German Bundersliga side Gonnen, who earlier became English national singles champion, won the European Junior Top 12 title and is the only european player in the World Top 10 junior rankings.
