NESLC 'A' Claim Title.
After a season of twists and turns,fall-outs and petty squabbles, the Premier division title race is finally over.
The team of Steve Penman,Andrew Wilkinson,Bart Vermosen,Anthony Barella,Graeme Barella,Mark Christie and all,
have taken the Title that they have said they would, since day one.

Congratulations goes out to them all;the best team won.

must say was a helluva game last night, although i didnt play i watched in amazement at some matches and tremendous rallys!

most people thought neslc were complete twits

they caused consternation before the season begun
with the taxi man pengy playing for everyone.

they upset team mates they d played with for a year or two
who shall i play for ,I have nt a clue.

there main challangers lost ,their
main man
with those mercenaries signing everyone they can.

the season was close,but in the end
their antics sent most teams around the bend.

Im not moaning and not resentful
as if the man had played titles would have been plentiful.

so well done to those who caused so much spite
the titles is yours ,you caused so many fights.

I'm amazed at all these poems and rhymes on this site involving various threads and suggest that they be compiled ready for publication before they get lost. Can you imagine it, the first ever book of table tennis poems from Table Tennis Talk, ! The book will need some funny illustrations, so get your pens out artists. I would like to add my comments to the above

The season, although having some highs and lows has on my part been totally enjoyable with team mates Maurice Cheek, Shirley Gelder and Tony Gelder. All have given absolute commitment to the team and cause, which has given me a great season. It has been a few years since playing in the Northumberland League and I have enjoyed it immensely.

The best team did win and hopefully a competitive season will follow in the coming summer months with winter following in its footsteps.

i think we should all get together for a meal and have the presantation for the winners. And also a TROPHY for the best poet, TROPHY for the top of league averages, best behaved worst attitude etc.... should be fun . during the week no weekend. AT A SPECIAL PRICE so eddie can come aswell. so get your votes in for the trophys.

Jim, I think this is a good idea. At least i will win something (worst attitude). Can i just say a big thank you to Shirley & Dave for putting up with me this season. And well done to NESLC 'A' for winning the league. The best team won.

:fcb:I went to Jimmys with the missus and windmill and the wife,
we had a great night,
the food was great,music and atmospere smashing and with jimmy the greek as host,what a gent ,he even let me on the drums,
(after all the customers had gone.)
With a couple of free drinks thrown in and then a reduction in the bill a splendid evening was had by all.

sounds a great idea, something like a set meal £10-£15 a head ,im sure we would get 20-30 no prob,a better setting could not be had.

I agree with Mr stamas....this could be an entertaining evening.....never mind the plastic tat given out for the champions.....the prize for worst attitude would be hard to give with several names in the frame....Choppy or Belafonte for poet, no argument with a certain web master for top of the player averages. Biggest wind up merchant SP or AW ??....worst haircut GS ??.....best behaved...No one lol....tallest Big baz...worst dressed ES or ???....Best overseas player BV or JS or does sunderland count ?.......best ginger player CB (formerly) DR.......Longest shorts IW or Big B.....the list goes on....best player called the Windmill...hurrahh
