We are all guilty of it, allowing a certain activity to monopolise our time to the point of destruction. With me it's the Internet. I work with my lappy all day then when I get home the first thing I do is switch my home lappy on before I even take my coat off.

Well it's time for me to readdress my life balances. I actually managed 2 nights last week without switching my lappy on. It's good because I am becoming more active then just sitting in front of my computer.

I imagine some of you play too much Table Tennis at times and fall out with spouses over it? Or watch every single football game that is transmitted?

So what's your obsession that perhaps needs to be readdressed?

I am currently on a self-enforced month off from playing table tennis that I take at the end of the season; I find it keeps me keen.

So yeah, I would say table tennis and listening to The Chris Moyles Show, which I tend to be very disappointed if I don't manage to catch before it goes off the iPlayer.

Oh and at the moment Great British Menu, having a girlfriend who is a chef and has got me into it.

Well... obviously for me I've not been playing. I may get in a match or two before I have to have the left foot operated on... My other obsessions would be guitars, bicycles and motorbikes.

LOL... well sir... I actually prefer classic British Roadsters to the arse-in-the-air, techno torture machines one sees the spandex set riding.... Give me a 3-speed sturmey archer hub, 28" wheels and rod brakes and I'm happy!

OK... so being a Jersey Boy myself... call me an heretic, but I'm not exactly a fan of Mr. S.:redcard: Prefer to listen and / or emulate the likes of Mark Knopfler, Chet Atkins... and yes.. Christopher Parkening.... et.al.

The motorbike is actually a 2001 Kawasaki Vulcan Drifter. Made in NEBRASKA. Designed as a full - valanced fendered cruiser harkening back to the Indian "Chiefs" of olde.... I just this very evening re-installed the rear wheel (ne tire), and new brakes front and back. :rocker:

Sedona? Would love to go there some day... but for now, I'll settle for the Americade Touring Rally in Lake George, NY. I depart on the 31st!

Actually... I am of English descent... possibly a little Scots in there too.... as well as German and Norwegian.... :bag:

The World's Fastest Indian.... a truly inspired movie of a truly inspired gentleman. Played brilliantly by Sir Anthony. Burt Munro was one of the most brilliant tinkerers since Mr. Edison himself.

And Londoner John Williams... who I've had the pleasure of seeing perform in - person... no slouch on the guitar either. ;-)

I'll have to look into Mr. Emmanualson's work as thus far, I'm unfamiliar... but always on the lookout...

In the morning I go straight to the Crazy Fit Massage, this wonderful machine vibrates and seems to totally relax me, without me having to move a muscle, as it moves every muscle for me, just by standing, kneeling or sitting on this plate. Shakes my fat into muscle. Then I switch my lap top on, to read my emails, while I eat my breakfast. Then I look up a tip, how to play table tennis. Once I find a new tip for the day, I go out to the garage to practice the new serve or shot on my table tennis robot. I practice 200 serves filling up the robot catch net. Then set the machine to practice todays task.

That's what this Thread is all about.............Life Balance.

Obviously I am adicted to 3Ts but I ensure it is a part of my life and not a controlling force.

The Internet can consume one which I personally think is unhealthy. Let the Internet be a part of your life and not a controlling.

WOW. Like the UK's answer to the likes of Al DiMeola... or Jon McLaughlin... Very impressive. I'm already tracking down some stuff for procurement on Amazon.

He's what I refer to as a "Finger Hazardous" guitarist. i.e., after watching him... and listening to him play, I must be careful as to not lop my fingers off as relatively speaking... they're useless.

Thanks for the lead!

As to "Balance"... LOL... I got to thinking again Annie... and yesterday was a good "balancing act" for sure. Up at 5:00AM... do my morning thing.... then the one hour ride to work. Put in my day there... off to the motorbike store to retrieve the rear wheel of my machine... then drive the hour home. Throw some food down and call it "dinner"... then... down to the garage where I spend a goodly 3 hours re-assembling the rear end of the motorbike... install the rear wheel and renew both front and rear brake pads....

About 10:00 PM... I finally sit in front of the telly to "unwind"... then... get my "snorkel" washed up and ready... then, clean out the humidifying reservoir... re-fill with distilled water... fire up the oxygen concentrator, don the snorkel and chin strap and then... Sleep the sleep of Darth Vader 'til 5:00 AM this morning.

And I wonder why I'm seemingly always tired....

GAH!

I am totally wrapped up in the kids, I know its may be a little predictable with three girls under the age of five but it really has given me real focus to get on and make the most of life!:static::static::static:

I play too much table tennis and badminton. Sometimes i am playing one or the other every night for a couple of weeks. This is usually ok but i think in the last few weeks i should have probably been revising for my GCSEs.

Certainly worthy of intentional tautology! (i.e.- you can say THAT again!)
