Hernia Operation

I had a open hernia operation recently and played table tennis 2 weeks later. However, I have not yet fully recovered and still get occasional pains.
Has anyone else had this operation and how long did it take for a full recovery?

TWO WEEKS?!?!?!? OK.. I suppose depending on the location of the hernia and the severity, recovery time could vary... vastly even.... but to play a mere two weeks after what would in most cases be considered "major" surgery.....

I presume you've curtailed your playing pursuant to the pain? Or perhaps not. While I certainly commend your asking the questions... perhaps you should be asking your Surgeon what he would recommend?

I had a Plantar Fasciotomy done on my right foot 4 weeks and four days ago... recovery time for that is 6 to 8 weeks and I'm itchin' to play like you wouldn't believe... but...

I know better than to attempt it.

Check with your doctor. He may clear you to play... then again... he may read you the riot act...

Either way... whatever he says... probably much more informed an answer than anything you'll get from us here... no matter how well informed we tend to be.
