View Full Version : Why So Many Forms?

At the start of the season, we get given an ETTA registration form for each league we register in (3 in my case but up to 5 in the past). I usually do one, and find the others screwed up in the bottom of my bag later in the season.
Is there any reason we need to complete them all or could it be simplified so we could say which other leagues we play in on the first form and then just tick a box to say we have filled a form in already on the others?
I suspect I am not the only one who doesn't bother with the duplicate forms.

Never understood why we can't register as Licensed Players online or by snail mail? Then just tell each of the leagues we are already registered and provide our license number.
Too easy for bureacracy to handle perhaps?:tomato:

Actually Crispione, I think in all fairness if you look at the ETTA site some 12-18 months ago it was in a completely different place. Developments like this do take time and resource.
A site like 3Ts is proactive because we get the opportunity to push things along and no matter how good a player you are you get the chance to voice your opinions.
Yes I'm surprised the ETTA don't have this facility already but if we shout loud enough I'm sure they will hear what their members want now rather than later! http://www.tabletennistalk.co.uk/forum/images/icons/yahoo.gif

I was told by a rather cynical friend that the reason we all had to register numerous times was so the ETTA could overestimate the number of players there were in the country when applying for funding etc. I'm sure that this can't be true though.

Annie and others,
Just to say that information relating to Individual Membership and Players Registration is on the ETTA website, with a number of documents covering potential questions.
A copy of a letter sent out to many people was emailed to Dave R on 18th May, I hope this will be published, perhaps I have missed it, as it gives players a better insight into these proposals.
Off to the European Veterans this week so if my responses are slow my apologise
Regards
Alex

My apolagies firstly as Alex did mail me the word document below relating to some of the following issues but open the document to see it in full.......
This letter is intended to give you an overview of the key elements of Individual Membership, which will be submitted as a proposal to the forthcoming AGM in June, for implementation in the 2010/11 season, if approved.
This is a unique opportunity to bring Table Tennis in line with most other Olympic sports and to empower the individual to be part of the process in our drive to modernise and to meet the specific requirements of our funding partners.
We hope this document will be useful to assist you in informing all your local members.
Reasons for Individual Membership
Ø The ETTA needs to have better systems to know how many members it has and what kind of members it has
Ø It needs to enhance its capacity to bring in and retain new members in whatever way
Ø It needs to improve responses to current government and funding partners’ expectations, as required of all National Governing Bodies
Ø Individual Membership satisfies those needs better than current systems
Ø It will also enhance direct communication with members, develop a sense of belonging, generate more income but from more people and can lead with increased numbers, to enhanced benefits for all members of the Table Tennis family
Membership changes
Ø The whole emphasis will be on individuals
Ø There will be two categories of membership
1 - Player Member - who plays Competitive Table Tennis;
2 - Associate Member - who does not (except for intra-club competitions)
Ø Associate Member will enhance our ability to increase membership numbers
Ø All members will be allocated a unique, lifetime membership number, which is portable to any league or competition.
