The Slovenian Pro Tour event, the first event of the new 2008 season, will be held Tuesday 15th January until Saturday 19th January in Velentje, Slovenia. England are represented at this event by Kelly Sibley, Joanna Parker and Tim Yarnall

Slovenian Pro Tour - day 1

Matches today at the Slovenian Open pro Tour event in Velentje were the first two rounds of the Mens and Womens Singles Qualifying Groups
Tim Yarnell played both his qualifying matches today and will not qualify for the main event. He went down in 5 sets to Filip Szymanski of Poland and in 4 straight sets to world 123 Martin Olejnik of the Czech Republic.
Joanna Parker is still in the hunt for a main event place as in her one match today she had a very comfortable victory over Madeleine Melcher of Sweden. He opponent tomorrow in her second match will be much tougher as she faces world no 132 Ana-Maria Erdelji of Serbia.
The Under 21 Qualification begins tomorrow evening, Tim Yarnall faces Tomislaw Marakovic of Croatia and Patryk Chojnowski of Poland, while Joanna Parker does not have to qualify as she is seeded no 16 in the Girls Under 21 Singles and goes straight into the knockout draw
