OK, so I've been swinging this bat around for a few days now and have become
quite enamored with it. Aside from all of the my other posting pursuant to
craftsmanship, etc., the bat has attributes... hidden attributes that I'm just
beginning to explore.

It's incredible for soft touch, surgically placed returns. I've attempted and
successfully landed shots with it that simply would have been foolish to even
consider with anything else. The only thing that comes close is the LKT
Instinct 5 with Valor or Reisman rubber. The LKT would be a distant second at best.

That said, I'm still learning how to use it effectively for the lightning fast
offense shots. I've landed more than a few that shocked even me as to speed,
trajectory and placement, so I know the potential there is quite significant.
Just have to get myself dialed in to the correct methodology.

On to the handle. You shake hands with this thing... and
it's like it melts into your palm. Not sure how Alberto developed this handle
but it is incredible. That being said, an excellent handle makes for excellent
"feedback" from the blade as well. You KNOW when you've not quite hit the ball
properly. But even then, it's very forgiving. I've utterly blown strokes...
yet the ball has made it to the other side of the table. Not necessarily an
advantageous shot... but it gets there. Sometimes that... in and of itself is
so unexpected that it leads to winning a point.

As to defense, the blade size, thickness, etc.) lends itself wonderfully and
(again) with that handle it provides excellent blocking capabilities. Great
feel and axial control. Like carrying a "wall" in your hand.

So I shall continue to explore the potential of this design. It's seemingly far
and away more bat than I've had the pleasure to use before. Recommend it to a
friend? Absolutely. Recommend it to an opponent? NO WAY....

In fact, I did allow one of my fellow players at work to try it out for a bit.
His opinion: "This thing is SICK!!!!" (in a GOOD way!)

Sounds great Larry. I'll have to get one when I can afford it!

Just to let everyone know - Valor & HEATT have just come to an agreement that we will act as a "Club Associate" and so we will be able to offer members a discount on the price published on the Valor website if ordered through HEATT.
The only minor drawback is that we have to order a minimum of 10 at a time, so it might take a little while to fill an order.
If anyone is interested in ordering send me a PM.

Seems they're at the moment not available... hopefully Alberto will once again offer them for sale.

Meanwhile, I've come to find out that mine was the first ever sold! So... I shall refer to it as "Olde Number ONE".

Here she is in her glory... note the edge tape.... the blade is quite thin so my regular "Paddle Palace" edge tape would have needed trimming. To do that and accurately keep the logos centered seemed rather daunting.

As it were, I have a few rolls of "Hockey Tape" that was much easier to trim. OK... so camo's a bit "Redneck" but I like it.

Nice pics Larry. Is the handle on the Champion larger/wider than the one on the Chopper or other models?

Yes. Thickness is the same but it's wider. I really like the configuration. Makes the bat VERY stable in my hand.
