After receiving written evidence from ten sports clubs from around the Nottinghamshire area, the judges for the Nottinghamshire Sports Review of the Year, awarded the Sycamore Table Tennis Club the Sports Club of the Year award.
Secretary Owen Rumbold who himself reached the top 5 (out of 21) in the Volunteer of the Year category, said: "The area gets a lot of negative publicity, but through our sport we want to address that and create a balance. This is a very proud moment for us."
These awards aren’t just about the competitors, they also seek to reward of those behind the scenes, such as coaches and administrators that make competitive sport possible.
Well done and we echo the fact hard work is done behind the scenes aswell as on the table !
