Another Brit is now eligible for the European Olympic Qualifier in April.
Gavin Rumgay has risen to number 298 in the world and as a result of reaching the top 300 he will now qualify to play in the European Olympic qualifying tournament in France, at the start of April.
Rumgay is the fourth highest British player in the world rankings and his current form is as good as any.
Rumgay is a second year HND student and will be playing full time at the British National Team Academy in Sheffield when he completes his study here at Filton.
“I am delighted with the progress he has made in his time here at Filton. He has completely turned around his career from a couple of years ago when he had stagnated somewhat. Now he is starting to prove his worth, not only within Britain but also internationally” says Academy head coach Kevin Satchell. Kevin also worked with Rumgay as a young lad during his time as Coach with the Scottish team.
