I have made a few but the best i heard was in a second round tournament match when the fellow said "the glare from his opponents glasses made the ball hard to see" not in a month of sundays was the cry.

Myself i have been know to blame sudden gusts of wind that amazingly change the course of the ball, well sounds good enough to me.:woho:

Thats exactly what i wasnt going to say !

RUBBER NOT THE PLAYER, joking apart it probably is the excuse many players use, credit where it is due if the player has performed better then he or she deserves to win.

I once witnessed a local player ask to restart a singles handicap match he was losing, complaining that he had cold hands and they were only just starting to get warm.
The person umpiring, more or less, told him to get lost.
I'll not disclose any names

best excuse i heard was from a very able defender called bill reay,i beat him into submission by forcing him back into the holes in the floor next to the walls of our club at concord,he said "the fact that he broke his leg in the hole was a contributory factor in his defeat",i find that a lame excuse by any standards, after all he did have the other leg.:dance3:
