:footstomp::finger::Mood::Mood: I have been plodding on using my normal speed glue and neos rubbers, when I thought I better investigate what the new glue, rubber situation is.I know the new rules apply in september.
So I got me tees sport catalogue out and was amazed to find that to use the new gluing system,I actually needed a degree in chemical molecular nuclear fission..:taz:.
There are many new glues, optimisers, rubbers for certain glues, glues that are fast, glues that are fast with other applications..anyway:covereyes:

image my suprise when on futher investigation the rubbers are now around the £40 mark, the glues are more expensive as are the optimisers.

I was looking forward to buying a rubber putting it on me bat and that was it for about 6-8 weeks, heaven ! no gluing, wasting time, breathing in chemicals...but no ...

for a match : I will have to glue me bat each day for three days but leave a gap of 48 hours before I actually can play,
I have to buy these special rubbers, glues and optimisers then :redcard::tomato::resent:then actually put a layer of glue on the rubber I have taken off, peel the glue off the rubber and re apply another layer:blowup:,doing this presumably while sitting with a small parrot on my left shoulder and eating an out of date piece of brie produced in th outer hebridees.
(that last bit isnt actually true)

the cheese should be from france...:dance3:

Anyway I think you get my drift, almost makes you want you to use long pimples.

Your comments and replies are most welcome..

Imagine a new decent kid playing, and the coach saying to his parents, you need to to do this this and this, glue, optimiser, glue re apply brilliant!!! not..

cricket you need a bat,
football you need a ball and acouple of jumpers,
tennis a racket, no glue,
oh ! any ideas..

Are there any easier ways to play with a fast bat..
please reply to harrybelafonte chief brie maker the outer hebridees..:thtease::thtease:

Why can't they ban glue world wide then there will be no 'Glue' issues with the youngsters and everyone would have the same advantage i.e. skill!

Who invented this glue philosophy anyway? My Father never used glue on his bat.

dear triple Champion,

I think you might be able to ignore the complicated literature on this matter. Since the team World Championships, manufacturers are bringing out their "All New & Improved" products.

There is already 'Bryce Speed' from Butterfly. But, in last few days Donic have introduced 'J.O. Platin' [at first glance i thought that they had named a rubber after Michel Platini, but it appears to be an abbreviation of 'platinum']. There is also Andro's 'Roxon' [so Rock On].
I'm not making these up, check the firms' websites.

For an elite sponsored player [such as yourself], no doubt Stiga will be bringing out their own versions.

Alternatively, instead of messing about with rubbers, I could sell you one of my Stiga 'Oversize' blades [especially good for blocking].

I would not bother gluing up any more. I've never glued up and i am still superbly brilliant. And, you are even better than me - so forget about glue.

I am making no charge for this consultation. "Next!"

Hey Harry boy the glue ....... optimiser seems to be ok, having tried it but is slightly slower so maybe the new stuff will get better as and when introduced.

ps keep the fitness levels high!

I am using Butterfly Optimiser and it seems to be fine at the moment providing you dont overlay it for example layering up as it becomes unstable i have found.

:redcard: If nobody had glue then the advantages would be equal :redcard:

I don't want to get anyone even more excited about the glue situation, but the latest rumour doing the rounds on the forums is that the ITTF have passed a new rule that rubbers are not to be modified in any way (ie tuners/treatments) and must be used as they come out of the pack. I haven't found the official wording anywhere yet just a google translation so far, but I am pretty sure this one is true as I have heard it in a few places. Maybe TS could get on to one of his butterfly contacts and let us know.
Haven't got a clue how they will police this one or maybe they will just rely on the manufacturers not producing the tuners anymore.

Maybe it would be better to look at a speed glue effect rubber.

this is all a joke, i think it is all just a money making scheme by the producers of table tennis equipment as they have already tried it a few years ago (probably about 13 years actually)

and no other country followed suit so England were at a disadvantage in all international events??

Mr Bellafonte i think i am going to take up Darts!!!! LOL

:redcard: as for banning glue totally and making everyone use there skill and talent they should ban pimples that would give everyone the same advantage as people who use pimples only use them to compensate for there weakness in strokes

In an ideal world we would have a bat that is a bat that is just a bat. No enhancements, same bat to all and then we would get to see who is really Champion of the World through their skill alone. One on One :rocker:

Of course this is unlikely to happen because of the commercial aspect i.e. money!

Personally if the ITTF are trying to bring in some kind of ruling where ALL bats are standard then it should be welcomed. If at first you don't succeed then try, try and try again.

Cumon! Who wants to give me a :redcard: for my comments?
