English National Championships 28-30 March 2008
Once again this year, the English National Championships of 2007/08 will be held at the Ponds Forge International Sports Centre in the vibrant city of Sheffield. The English National Championships is the most sought after and prestigious event in the English domestic calendar. Each year over 260 English competitors, from counties far and wide, battle it out in order to become English National champion in any of the 11 categories the tournament has to offer.
International competition is a common occurrence at Ponds Forge's International Sports Centre. Both aquatic and dry sporting events are held at the centre and Ponds Forge has sufficient resources to provide a professional service for competitors and spectators alike.
International volleyball, badminton and basketball competitions are regular events in the Sports Hall as well as our own national championships. The area has housed numerous World Title boxing matches and even the World Indoor Bowls Tournaments.
The world knows Sheffield for its historical heritage in the steel, cutlery, engineering and tool making industries. In the last decade, however, Sheffield has undergone a dramatic transformation, becoming a great place to visit and attracting over four million tourists every year. Now a lively cosmopolitan city, Sheffield is the perfect venue to mix a weekend of table tennis and leisure.
