The ETTU have just released their glue testing guidelines, these will come into effect on 1st January for junior events and 1st September for all other events. This will mean that the Europe Youth Top 10 happening in Sheffield over the 25th-27th January will be one of the first tournaments affected by the ban.

These are the Guidelines......................

ETTU GUIDELINES FOR GLUE TESTING
1. The instructions of the referee have to be followed.
2. All players will be asked to come to a separate area in the playing venue 15 minutes
prior the start of their respective match in order to choose the balls. There and then
they will be informed who has been selected for the glue test. The testing will be
carried out by the umpires of the match concerned.
3. The selection for the glue testing will be made at random.
4. The selection of the rackets to be tested (with regard to players or matches) will be
made by the referee.
5. The tests will take place within the respective court of the selected matches, possibly
before the warm up.
6. The selected player must be allowed to watch the test procedure.
7. A racket which tested negatively (in line with the regulation) has to stay with the
umpire and will be given back to the player at the playing table just before the warm
up for the match.
8. A racket which tested positively (not in line with the regulation) will stay in possession
of the player (will not be confiscated), but must be replaced immediately by another
racket also to be tested.
9. A player whose racket tested positively may demand a second test with another
testing device.
10. A racket which tested positively can only once be replaced by a new racket.
11. If the second racket tested positively as well the opponent will win the match by
default.
