Over the weekend the Table Tennis Talk site will be undergoing some changes to its software from its standard system to a "Gold" version which is explained below. This does not affect members in any way other than the site has some listed changes to boost search engine optimisation and security.
What is a 'Gold' Version?
When talking about software, the term 'gold' is not related to the color of the application. Rather, it refers to the practise of burning the final version of a software product to a CD-R so that it can be sent to a large scale CD press for large-scale distribution. The official name of this new version is vBulletin 3.7.0.
Bug Reports
As with any software, bugs will appear. If you find a problem that you believe to be a bug, please post about it on the forums where i can identify it and investigate the problem deeper.
The site will also have a new Casino Addition:
This is a full Casino addition for vBulletin, containing video poker, blackjack, Slot machines, a lottery, Let 'em Ride, sports betting and a multiplayer Texas Hold'em table.
It uses it's own cash as well as cash fields. Cash bonuses are also awarded for various actions (posting, starting threads, referrals, reputation, etc.). This is purely an "enjoyment" thing as the system is NOT real cash but stealth money that is within the sites coding but you accumulate or lose accordingly. It is a new system designed for pleasure and those who like to play the above games but dont like to lose real money! You can play and dabble without fear of losing but enjoy the slots or games, with the only thing you lose being some free time.
The upshot will be this:
The site will be upgraded over the weekend and arcade scores will be reset to zero across the board aswell.
I hope this will go smoothly and not affect anyones enjoyment of the site to much.
