Ive looked at the price Leeston and yes i agree the structure seems higher than one would think even with shipping costs involved.

The price 172,- EUR including VAT is 19%; net 144.54 EUR.
Sorry, in a dispatch within the EU, the VAT will be calculated.

I think we should chip together and buy one of these for DaveR, that way when he looses, he'll only have himself to blame! :resent:

I think you could knock one up for £10 and another £20 for say 6-8 sheets of cheap chinese rubber and you have your own return board.

I'll let you do it as I might chip me nails! http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d29/hungarianwonderwoman/Emotions/spruce_up.gif

Don't get me wrong, this is a great product and there's great benefit in its use.

I know of a club that knocked up their own type of return board for a fraction of the retail price. I just think that there's more of a market out there if its priced based on the targeted client base - the UK. In the UK, we are a poor and a minority sport so do not attract the funding we would like.

If the unit cost was more around, say £30-50 ish max - then my club, as an example, would possibly consider buying several of them. But with the inital cost, VAT and P&P - just isn't worth the money from a personal perspective. So do you sell say 100 units at the higher price or 1000 units at a lower price - Who knows ?

E208 = £165 is a large amout of money for a plastic / wooden board, with rubbers on it and guide stands.

I stress again ! I really like the product - it far better than a robot - just got my "affordabilty" hat on.

Leeston we all have to take reality checks in everything especially in Table Tennis clubs where the numbers sometimes don't reflect the need for a product. I agree the product is a quality one with my full backing but see both sides like yourself.........grants can assist but the money has to be channelled into the most "needy" areas. The robot theory is an interesting one as i believe and have done a long time robots although good seem to manufacture a "robotic" player with little flare for example the player becomes totally set play orientated and this can be seen in players who use these to much. As with everything we need to balance all of the systems to enhance all areas of any particular players game / stroke play etc.

Robots are a debate on their own !
