They moved our table out on to the patio... PAVERS.... or... I guess "Cobblestones" sort of... (pardon if my "yankee" shows a bit)

Methinks what I have is acute plantar fasciitis in both feet....

Any insights as to mitigation?

TIA!

Yes... there's that to consider for sure... Hate to have to do it for the "now" but methinks I'm going to have to limit my play... :-(

Hey man the rewards for training even at an age 40 plus are immense. Never fall into the potato catagory of lying and getting old gracefully !

Move on and keep fit i say!

Absolutely... "limit" the play... for now.... as it were there's a "tournament" going at work... so I shall play the matches I need to for the now. As to playing for 1 to 2 hours after work... that will have to wait 'til things improve.

Once that occurs... I need to figure out something along the lines of footgear... to help minimize the problem. Hence my original post. One thing I've learned in 48 years... there's no such thing as being "Terminally Unique". ;-)

Thanks Harry... yeah, I plonked down some coin on various and assorted accoutremants de foote....

Must "break" in my feet to be accustomed to the orthotic arch supports... but methinks I'm getting there.

For the moment, I'm sadly limiting my playing time. Hopefully... the actions taken will bear fruit.

After all... I've got a new blade, rubbers, etc. on order and certainly would like to be able to actually USE them.

Rub Bran in! In my humble opinion I have tried various varieties and Morrisons' is the sweetest of the lot!

See, if you swap "bran" with "treacle sponge" on those three lines, I absolutely 100% agree with you.

Yeah, but it tastes bloody nice! Also crumbles, sticky toffee puddings and american pancakes. Not to mention steak (I had a lovely mixed grill yesterday!)

I'm hungry now.

Take a bowl from the cupboard and a spoon from the draw and place both down in front of you. Pick up a box of Bran and shake gently from side to side until a handful cascades into the bowl and settles at the bottom. Now reach for a carton of skimmed milk and lift the flap, pour the fat free liquid over the Bran until it is completely covered.

Now walk away and leave the milk to soften the Bran for approximately 10 minutes. Once softened, take the bowl to a table and sit down. Scoop a small amount of the mixture into the spoon and lift it to your mouth. Put the spoon in your mouth and swallow the healthy goodness saying Mmmmmmmmm................. as you do. Repeat this process until all the mixture has gone.

The cost of a bowl of Bran every morning? - 30p
The benefits to your wellbeing? - Priceless!

Yeah, but I don't like bran to be honest. I used to have bran flakes every so often for breakfast, but wasn't keen. Also, skimmed milk is horrible! Full cream is the way.

It's no wonder I get "how are you not 20 stone.. or dead?" comments. I am eating more salad and fruit these days though.

Get an old box of frosties, cut into small pieces, paint brown , leave in a bowl of water mixed with small amount of flour, leave for roughly 30 mins...

Actually... to expand on Harry's approach... Corrugated Paperboard... cut into wee chunks and soaked for a spell in milk.. or even better MICROWAVE it 'til it de-laminates. Tonnes of fibre and it's held together with corn starch which gives it a lovely sweet taste too!

Ah.... digression... a fine art unto itself.
