Hi all - not sure that this is the best category to post this but I can't find anywhere better, so here goes.
My partner and I are visiting Europe for an extended holiday from late August to December, starting in England and traveling through Wales, Scotland and through Western Europe (France, Germany, Sweden, Norway and a few other countries) on to Eastern Europe. We are looking to fit in some table tennis amongst the sightseeing and we would love to meet and stay with table tennis people where possible along the way.
We haven't visited Europe before, so if anybody can put us up at their place, and could help us out with local knowledge of the table tennis scene, it would be much appreciated. We would of course be happy to do the same for any of our hosts who visit Perth, Western Australia. We can be contacted at gregXX@gregsttpages.com (remove the XX's).
Thanks
Greg Letts

Not famous I'm afraid - in Australia I'm probably known as the guy who carries the video camera around everywhere, and in the US I'm maybe infamous as the guide to About.com Table Tennis!

Thanks DaveR - my partner and I are trying to firm up our itinerary in UK in the next few days - will let you know. We are hoping to cover a fair bit of ground though - after coming from Western Australia everything in the UK seems pretty close to each other!

I agree he's a formidable player Harry boy, glad to see you around Greg by the way !
Hello Greg
I don't know if you remember me contacting you about Hexapong a while back, but I remember seeing photos you took of some guys playing triples and thought if someone in Australia could get on the Hexapong table maybe I could get some feedback on what they thought. I don't want to inconvenience anyone so I am just saying this in passing. If you are planning a stop up by Sunderland, DaveR may have a Hexapong table for you to see. Of coarse you have to check with him for info.
If you are coming to the North East, you are most welcome to come to Ormesby Table Tennis Club in Middlesbrough. www.ormesbytabletennisclub.org.uk (http://www.ormesbytabletennisclub.org.uk) We have sessions on Monday to Thursday plus a Saturday morning junior club.

Hi all - my partner and I have been busily planning/arguing ;) over where we want to go in the UK/Ireland - here's what we have got so far (roughly).
Start in London for about a week (28th August), then train to Cardiff for the Cardiff Open - (6/7 September). To Shrewsbury via Swansea and the Heart of Wales train.
After this point the dates start getting a bit fuzzy since we aren't sure how long we'll stay in each location yet.
From Shrewsbury through North Wales to Holyhead via train mostly. To Dublin via Ferry. Up to Belfast.
Belfast/Larne to Stranraer via ferry, then on to Glasgow. Up to Stirling, then Inverness, round to Aberdeen, down to Dundee and Edinburgh.
Out of Scotland down to Carlisle, and Newcastle. Down to Liverpool/Manchester/Leeds area. Onwards to Stratford on Avon/Oxford.
Down to Bath and to the South West possibly if time - maybe the Clare-Pengelly Devon tournament (4/5 October)
On to Salisbury, Brighton, Canterbury.
Back to London and then over to Paris! Phew!
Locations/dates subject to change depending on our mood and how tired we are!

Hi all,
I'm about to leave Singapore this evening (Wed 27 Aug) and will arrive in London on Thursday. I'll be in London for 7 days before heading to Wales for the Cardiff Open.
I'm hoping to get a hit or two around the London clubs if possible, so if anyone has any recommendations or wants to meet up for a hit please let me know on at greg@gregsXXpages.com (replace the XX with tt).
Also, I want to get hold of a red Tackiness chop 1.0 or 1.1mm rubber in time for the Cardiff Open. Can anyone point me in the direction of a good UK dealer who could get it in time? Or would anyone in London be willing to buy it for me and I'll meet them to pick it up and pay them back?
Cheers,
Greg

I think the biggest club to visit in London is the London Progress club.
