Grantham’s first ever outdoor table tennis tournament took place at Isaac Newton Primary School on Sunday morning.
It was a large field from all over the county. All the players took a while to get use to the wind, but the children certainly seemed to enjoy the experience.
The final was played on an artificially created beach on the school playground between Ashley Harris from the National School and Thomas Trimble from Rauceby Primary. Thomas came out on top 3-1.
John Mapletoft the tournament coach said “If I was a few years younger I would have put my shorts on and played myself!”

Quite a nice little article from the ETTA site showing you can generate interest if you put some ground work into the promotion and running of the event .............. so come whos next to organise one ..............
