Now cause i'm quite young and not at a very high level i don't pay much attention to the higher levels of the junior and cadet age boundaries. However in Essex playing in touranemnts i've never run into another penholder (asides the few shakehands that know how to play penhold). Only at veteran level have i really seen many penholders. So i was wondering whether any of you knew of english penholders in the juniors who play penhold? It doesn't seem very successful in england (probably cause it isn't coached :P)

cheers,
anthony

tt is so quick i think players are advised by coaches not to use penhold if they want to make a go at reaching a top level, plus as you say not many coaches would be able to advise on technique etc

Isn't Tin Tin Ho a penholder ?

Not a bad player ... :thtease:

I had a young player come to me for coaching, fresh from China he was a penholder and as I don't use the style myself I did find it a challenge. So Wilko's right there are not going to be many purely because none of the coaches use it.
