I will soon be taking over the league table recording and players averages for the Northumberland League and am about to be given some legacy spreadsheets from the previous league secretary. I am curious to know if there is anything out there to make this more automated. Has anyone used the software available on the ETTA web site called Data Manager for leagues ?
It allows you to manage the clubs, teams and players and the competition programme for your Organisation. I would be interested to know if it is any good ?
Are any alternatives available ?
Thanks
MK Chris

In my limited experience of using it, I haven't found it easy to use.. in my opinion the user interface isn't simple, certainly for the casual user.
Ahem.. I plan to do a web application that does a similar job, but it'll take me a while to write.

After a cursory look at data manager it seems complicated...hence my question on TT talk....I may just continue with the spreadsheets that have built in calculations to produce league tables and player averages. Thats unless some comes back to me with something better. Keep me posted on your web application MK Chris....cheers
I use the website www.tabletennisuk.info (http://www.tabletennisuk.info) site of Wayne Glossop.
You can input results and player records that record league tables and averages.

I remember Leeston having some system but like Chris cant think of any which are easy to run, which is the very reason you need one i suppose?

I agree registration is easy, as I have registered to look at the online tool you both tell me about. I have concerns that it is not software that i can download onto my PC and use only myself. I see that teams can enter results on their own behalf and I think that this could be open to abuse. Thanks for your input though....our league starts early Sept so I have a little time to make a decision.

Very true wilko .....I can imagine what would happen...it would be a nightmare. As soon as certain characters realised they could input results some teams would hit the stratosphere in terms of points gained. :meatpies:

Surely integrity should prevail?
Maybe not if anything ive seen is to be a guide, sadly its something that only one person can be responsible for if an accurate outcome is to be achieved.
