Has anyone got any tips when applying rubber with Butterfly free chack glue. I was talking to someone last night and they said that it was not very reliable and they had experienced rubbers falling off and flapping about. Can this happen and if so do you have any top tips ( not Viz comic tips ) . I have the glue and await my new rubbers arriving hopefully next week. Any advice would be gratefully accepted.....Ta

hi dale make sure you let the glue go totally clear before you attatch the rubbers and after about 3 days take them off and re glue them and you will find they stick better

i have heard on the grape vine that this glue is also under investigation as this also has toxic chemicals in it which are harmful

This is correct. If it is left for the correct amount of time, (when it goes clear, usually 10 mins) it sticks better than the old normal glues. I find that it bonds better to a varnished blade.

Be nice to know the score.
I thought the ITTF idea was to ban anything that effected the way the rubber played (i.e. if it changes the characteristics then it is not approved).
So we are talking about tuners, boosters, water based glues - I am guessing they cannot ban snot so you could always try that.
Anyway does anyone know for sure what we are allowed or not allowed to use next season ?

Ok thanks....will keep you posted once rubbers arrive.....Hope the leg gets better soon....from experience its a nightmare getting the movement back once the plaster is off....and also there is usually muscle wasteage which takes forever to build back up.....cheers,

I doubt the ITTF would care, since they no longer approve any glues... Since they don't approve them, they can't be sued if there is a problem, which is all they seem to care about... It would be an issue for Butterfly to sort out I would think...
If it does not contain any of the illegal substances on their list, or exceed the new VOC levels, it should be legal to use...

OK...Rubbers arrived yesterday (Bryce speed FX). Stuck them on at tea time and went to practice last night.....no problems with rubbers not being glued on properly.
Having played with speed glue for several years this is going to take some getting used to.
