The free table tennis (FTT) newsletter has been very critical of our national governing body (the ETTA). There have been a few comments that it has been negative rather than constructive so if you were the ETTA what would you do ?

Not too much detail needed but let's avoid simply saying we need more publicity and more TV airtime - if you think that is true how would you go about it ?

Do we need major events such as the recent masters at the Royal Albert Hall ?
Should we be sending young players to China, how best do we ensure their progress ?
Should the newly appointed regional coaches be running regional coaching sessions ?
Will the player license system work and is it needed ?
How would you restructure local leagues to accomodate juniors or are they fine as they are ?
If leagues and counties both get to vote at ETTA AGM's are we not simply double counting ? Where should the voting power lay ?

What are your thoughts (not just around my questions), feel free to throw in anything that comes to mind.

Belisar What an excellent and proactive Thread.

I was only thinking today that it might be and easy enough and completely achievable task to have live Web Cam coverage of major tournaments. If viewing was chargeable it would bring revenue into the arena so that better more enjoyable tournaments could be hosted.

Having said that I think all such tournaments should charge a nominal entrance fee. This could go toward advertising of forthcoming events. I still can't believe that if it weren't for the fact that I am involved with this site I would not be aware of the Wolverhampton Tournaments. It's a massive well run site but as a local I would never know it exists.

There is a tournament this weekend in Halifax that isn't on the ETTA site so again who would really know about it other than a few in the know?
