Over my long old years as a player and now a VETT i have always wondered why most clubs dont make as much use of video coaching as they could, with an easy set up procedure and an "afterwards" recap factor its surely one of the best tools to analyze ones strokes, technique and footwork. A short 3 - 5 minute spell can tell a lot about an area of someones game with easy critical observations to improve minor or even major weaknesess which are usually inherited by either apathy or just pure laziness over the years.
Having seen a lot of clubs over the years, and yes some use the video as a helping tool........many seem to have very little structure when it comes to coaching ie objectives and aims. We can all play a valuable part in the coaching area with many players having a little something to give to others.
On another note it has to be said coaching young and total beginners is very very difficult, my hat comes off to those who continuously give their time and effort in what can be a very tedious and slow learning process when coaching the sport at a very early level.
Ps at Sunderland there is great coaching video which has to be said is a great tool ..........HERE (http://www.tabletenniscoach.com/main.html)
