On the subject of spam, how many of you in the UK have received notification of winning a U.S. lottery?
For a while I was receiving e-mails at least two times a week telling me I won a lottery in the Uk.

Pretty much all of the time plus a lady in some country telling me she wants to transfer millions of dollars into my account!

Talking about millions did you see there is now a 100 billion dollar note as inflation is so bad and it will easily buy you a bag of cheap sweets if your lucky !

The main one for me is emails from Halifax and other banks that I have never had an account with.

Regarding the Nigerian scams about the transfer of millions, I read this (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/africa/3887493.stm) a while back, it's an interesting read.

One of my Users passed on an e-mail that they had received from Paypal asking them to click on a link and confirm their bank details. I followed the link to have a look and it was almost a mirror image of the real Paypal website except for the smallest of detail.

I forwarded the e-mail to Paypal and they confirmed that it was a scam and emphasised that no Banking or Monetary Organisation will ever ask you for information via e-mail. Please be vigilant and always be wary of what personal information you give out.

You do have to be so careful.. I'm lucky to work in IT and am seasoned enough to spot the subtle signs, but a lot of people get caught out.

I didn't get one.

I feel left out - or perhaps I am just beyond all hope.
