it was quoted several years ago that players with constant long looping actions would be subject to some knock on injurys effect in later life and i was talking to a former county player who played this style who was waiting to have a hip operation and he seemed to think it was in some ways related to TT Whilst i recall players Jarvis, Walker and Gergley and Surbeck playing quite a few of these strokes I cannot recall if any of these sufferd Surbeck was still playing 2 years ago but it was mentioned he had bad knees Nicky still coaches but havenot heard of the other 2
Another point in the flanders open( good bye glue ) a lot of the younger players were playing longer strokes so it might be the case because the stroke has to lenghten more injurys become apparent tennis elbow for one
in our league 2 injurys have contributed to the retirement of players both were at their peak Malcolm/Sharkey who did make a comeback but wasnot the same player Harry and Tony have missed a lot of games due to injury
So i wonder if any fitness trainer has risk assessed tt on a long term basis
