Hatton and Mayweather at the weigh-in
The Hitman strode onto the stage with the sounds of the national anthem ringing in his ears, sung lustily by his legion of supporters.
Six thousand of them had crammed into the arena to watch the weigh-in, with thousands more locked outside.
Hatton came in at 10st 5lbs, 2lbs below the the maximum, while Mayweather was exactly 10st 7lbs.
But it was what followed the weigh-in that got the Hitman's fans excited.
The two fighters stood literally nose-to-nose, before the inevitable pushing and shoving took place.
Then to the crowd's delight, Hatton sarcastically waved his opponent away.
But the man from Manchester was not finished.
Grabbing a microphone he spoke directly to his followers.
"What can I say about a turnout like this - absolutely fantastic," he declared.
He then asked: "Who's taking the belt?"
There was only ever going to be one reply.
Hatton finished with a typically earthy verbal flourish.
"Let's have him!"
The fight is being billed as 'Undefeated' as neither fighter has suffered a loss in their professional careers to date.
Wish him well
