    Hi Peeps,
Thought I'd share this with you - there are some really interesting coaching articles on this site.

    www.rowdenscorner.num61.com

I know Rowden very well as he is now based in Dorset / Hampshire and is currently coaching Mathew Ware ( currently plays for England ) and Hannah Hicks another up and coming star.

Also, here's the sites I run for my local league :

    Hi Peeps,
Rowden has spent his life dedicated to the sport and you can tell. Happy to put you in touch if needed.

One thing to remember about coaching is that its about communication !
Sounds easy, but it takes a certain skills set to command an audience.

Being the "top" player does not mean that they are any good at coaching. So many players have thought the transition into the coaching world is a short step away and found out how difficult it can be.

Coaching is a great challenge and opens up a new sphere of knoweldge which you can share and apply and can work in conjunction with your playing needs.

Also, the cerebral element of coaching is equally rewarding - also helps had some thoughts to website forums ! Te He

Totally true as with good footballers not always making good managers, the same as said by Leeston can be said of top players not always communicating well with players giving good feedback and game analysis.

The coaching area is one that a lot of players seem to think is easy and that anyone can drop into, in reality not so with very few making top coaches or even near that. There is another point in the coaching side of things which is that far to many people get involved with coaching young players (which has to be said is very difficult and tedious at times) but have very little in the way of skill or true stroke play themselves meaning the young or some of the young develope badly at their initial stages, however i do agree there is a lack of coaches to bring the young on anyway so we are sometime caught between a rock and a hard place.

    "coaching is a great challenge"

That should be at the front of anyones mind when undertaking the coaching role as in my opinion its not the easiest job in the world, the various stages of coaching are so complex meaning some players jump in at the completely wrong level either over coaching or under, which obviously means the person on the recieving end gets either bewildered or tries to run before walking................pitching the level is important in any teaching process.
