The main draw for the Evergrande Real Estate World Team Table Tennis Championships which will be staged from 24th February to 2nd March in Guangzhou, China took place today

I have sent the following e mail to editors of some national and local newspapers:

2008 World Team Table Tennis Championships

The 2008 World Team Table Tennis Championships will commence in Guangzhou, China on 24th February and will conclude on 2 March.

Teams from 146 countries (out of 204 member associations of the International Table Tennis Federation) will participate in the men's and women's team events, including teams from England, Scotland, Ireland and Guernsey.

In addition to being one of the fastest sports in the world, table tennis is a lifetime sport that can be played by people of all abilities from the age of 5 to 95. It is also a great activity for health and fitness and for keeping young people off the streets.

There are millions of table tennis fans in the UK and we would like to see national, regional and local coverage of the World Championships and our teams. Yes, some of us can look at websites, but we would all appreciate the event being reported in the national media.

All the information about the Championships is contained on the website of the International Table Tennis Federation, www.ittf.com.

Anything that you can do to report on this event for the general public would be much appreciated.
